• Understanding Description Text

Description text contains a description of a certain object, place, or event so that the reader can feel, see, smell, and hear it.

• The generic structure of descritif text is

There are 3 descriptive text structures,namely identification,section descriptions,and conclusions/impressions.

• The sentences used in descritive text are Detailed sentences or sentences that aim to detail or explain an object to make it more concrete and clarify sensory impressions for readers.

Love, The Mainecoon Cat

I have a cat named Love. She is female and of the Mainecoon race. Love is my family's favorite. He always makes us happy with his behavior. Love is 1 year old. The fur is smooth, dense, gray in color. Bright blue is the color of his eyes. His tail is long and wags every time I call his name. Love has two pointed ears like a wolf. Love loves to eat. That's why it grows fast. Now, he weighs up to 5 kilograms. Even so, Love remains agile moving here and there. However, I have to be careful when playing with him, because Love likes to scratch occasionally. I really love Love. Since he was there, I'm more excited in living the day. Hopefully Love is always healthy and accompanies me until old age.

I have a pet. My pet is a rabbit. My rabbit’s name is Tutu. Tutu is a small rabbit. She has beautiful light brown fur. Her fur is clean and soft. Her ears are shorter than any other rabbit. Tutu also has big round and black eyes. Her fingers are so small and soft.

The Orangutan

The Orangutan is a species of the ape; it has long arms and hands, with very long fingers. It is much larger than the ape, and some have been found about six feet high, when standing erect.It is capable of walking nearly erect; but the usual gait on the ground is like a cripple who supports himself on his hands, and draws his body forward.Its home, like the monkey family, seems to be on the trees. The hair is of a brownish red color, and covers his back, arms, legs, and the outside of his hands and feet.The face has no hair except whiskers on its side. He inhabits Malacca, Cochin China, and particularly the island of Borneo.

2) Create Descriptive Text

Library At School

The library is a place where many kinds of books are stored. The library room at SMKN 4 is quite spacious. In the library there are various kinds of books such as textbooks, novels, short stories, comics, and others. There are 8 bookshelves standing in the corner of the library which have been arranged neatly. In the center and on the sides there are 9 folding tables, 2 regular tables, 2 chairs to sit on, and 5 bean bags for a comfortable reading position, on each table there is a flower vase that is not too big. The carpet used is a carpet that resembles grass. when entering we will find the librarian's desk and a table that has 1 computer for attendance. for air conditioning there are 2 air conditioners and several closed vents so that light can enter, while for lighting there are 6 lamps located on each side of the room. There is a shoe rack in front of the library room, so that the library is kept clean. The color of the walls of the library room is blue and yellow, each wall has a nice painting that matches the wall color proportions. The library room is a comfortable, quiet place with complete books.

a. Building Drawing Engineering Module

This book is entitled Building Drawing Techniques, by Suparno. I use this book to learn things about drawing buildings, such as the different kinds of drawing tools, how to use drawing tools, texture drawing techniques, flat shapes, geometric shapes, and others. The cover of this book depicts several sketches of buildings with a blue background, and a yellow title, with a contrasting color that can be the center of the eye so that it makes the reader interested in reading and studying the module.

b. Building Statics Module

This module is entitled Science of Building Statics, by Mawahib Effendy. I use this module to study building statics with analytics and graphics.The cover on this module is less attractive, because the design used is too simple and basic.

c. Basic Module of Building Modeling and Information.

This module is entitled basic module of building modeling and information, by Aulia Putri, Chilmi Nour A, Fidya PS, Dicky N, M Nur Fuan. I use this module to study material regarding design, modeling and building information. The design of this module is quite interesting because it uses several elements that can make readers interested.

• General

a. Indonesian Citizenship Education

This book is entitled Indonesian Citizenship Education, by Abdul Waidil, Ali Usman,Ahmad Asroni, Hatim Gazali Tedi Kholiluddin.This book contains several materials such as Pancasila, the constitution,Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and others. The design of this book is quite interesting because the color combination is good enough to make it more pleasing to the eye.

b.  Indonesian History Book

This book is entitled Indonesian History Book, by Gunawan, Amurwani, and Sardiman. I studied this book about the history of Indonesia. The design of this book contains several elements such as supporting images so it is quite interesting    look at.

c. Forward an English

This book is entitled Forward an English, by Shyla K. Lande, Eka Mulya Astuti. This book contains some material for learning English,  but Mrs. Yuni rarely uses this book because this book is for reference only. The design of this book is quite interesting because of the color combination and several additions that are quite suitable to look at.
